Why we need a new van...
Firstly thank you for taking the time to read this! COFAS has foster homes more spread out than most rescue groups. We are technically out of Greensboro, GA. We have foster homes in Greensboro, Athens, Loganville, Lawrenceville, and many other cities. We pull from ALL OVER Georgia and in doing so our vans are used heavily.
Mostly we use them for transporting animals to adoption days, along with tents, bowls, crates, food, and other things we need to get to adopters and foster homes. We currently have 2 vans right now (both minivans and not made for cargo loads). One is near death and the other is less than functional. We can only fit a few dogs in them, so we are limited how many animals to bring to adoption events. Volunteers commonly have dogs loaded in the back of their tiny cars, which is certainly not the safest thing to do.
Ideally we would like to get two cargo vans with A/C in the rear for the animals, We are collecting money now to try and purchase them, but would also LOVE your help to contact car dealerships or individuals that may be willing to donate them to us. Our vans get around town often so window space and side panels are welcome to be used for advertising!!!
These vans are our only way to get many of the dogs and cats to the vet and the 45-100 miles to adoption days in Loganville every Saturday.
